Day 3: Design Charrette discussions with Catherine Morris from Southway Housing Trust at Westcroft Community Centre in Burnage. Catherine in conjunction with Ambition for Ageing is setting up the 'take a seat' campaign within Burnage, a successful endeavour already in place in Old Moat.

Day 7: Here the Pause and Talk installation provided an opportunity for disseminating the knowledge of community engagement with the undergraduate events students.

Day 6: The addition of arms to some chairs...bike arms. The undergraduates were given free rein over the design for this item.

Day 5: Working in the workshop to get the palette wood sanded and made into our space partitions. External frame created using a basic butt joint, with mitered butt joints for the internal bracing.

Day 4: As is to be expected with reclaimed materials, some sections are too rotten or weathered to be utilised. With such, measuring, drawing, cutting and sanding of any new elements needed is put into motion. Here we can see a new chair base being cut out by Lucia.

Day 2: Following the two groups collecting and cataloguing materials, a design charrette is underway to begin conceptualising the temporary installations.

Day 1: Exploring Burnage.

Hey guys, this is something I made for my studio project out of an old bench, don't be constrained by the material you find though!

Day 1: First meeting and Burnage site visit. The first task was that of exploring the area through photography, sketches, and engagement with the community.
