Tuesday 26: Selection of the brief.

By weighing up the positive and negatives we were able to determine which brief presented the best opportunities. Students developed ideas based on key aspects of each site. Exchange square developed significant interest concerning the IRA bomb explosion in 1996. With the 20 year anniversary arriving soon it presented an opportunity to create an atmospheric but commemorative installation.

Adam presents 4 scenarios for the possible theme of the exhibition. Each of these scenarios is a situated within Manchester in which the exhibition will act a portal back to a specific point in the sites history.

Monday 25 :Visit to the exhibition space at Manchester Art Gallery.

The first visit to the gallery allowed students to recognise what opportunities the space presents and present initial ideas.
