DAY 7 //
Today a lot of progress was made with all of the models. The site model is almost complete with the exception of the base which will be added tomorrow. Some of the installations were also modelled at 1:100 scale. The installation designs for each square were then presented to the whole group before a vote was taken to decide on the winning partition.

We reviewed the panels again and discussed how to improve the quality of the drawings, the clarity of the diagrams as well as the flow and layout of the final presentation.

We received good positive feedback from the staff at Centrepoint for our interim presentation! They were delighted and impressed with our proposals and appreciate that we incorporated most of their needs and requirements into our scheme. They are looking forward to our final proposal next Tue. Stencil Design
The design team are now working on stencil design to spray paint the ply wood panels for the soapbox! These designs continue to follow the histories festival themes of democracy and freedom of speech.

Film: Some of the themes covered in the film will be; Music, Art, Culture & Politics. As well as this there will be footage of the tours which took place and students conducting research.
The film will be 3-5 mins long.

Film: The aim of the film is for the students to collate both found and shot footage into a coherent film which reflects both what has been researched and understood regarding the relationship of Manchester & Detroit, and also what they have been doing throughout events week.

Day 08: Editing of the publication continues and all the works are compiled together and the layout of the magazine is being monitored, information of the topics chosen by the students are uploaded and editing texts has begun for the final publication output and the filming group continues to work on the tapes and its editing.

Productive day with the students, weather-resistant varnishing almost completed on the cladding panels. Once the varnishing has finished drying in the MMU workshop spray booths, then it will be ready for transportation to the site.
This week, the students have been very productive both on site and in studio, exceeding all expectations that we had of them. Already achieving something that they hopefully found enjoyable and posed a different challenge to regular studio commitments

Today the students divided the work to model making and booklet making. While some students were at the wood workshop making models other students were working on the booklet at the studio!

DAY//6 | Discussions
The students had discussions with the 5th years and assistance from the Workshop Staff regarding the joinery details and finalizing the design details. The students are simultaneously working on the Construction Package and the Scaled model for the final output.

While some of the students have been working at the workshop the other members of the team are preparing their booklet that is also submitted to Luna. The client wants to exhibit both the models and the booklets.
The booklets contain information on the design proposal, construction process, materials and cost of production!

DAY 07// FELIX EXTON-SMITH // The key is in the details. We want to provide the client not only with standard GA drawings and visuals but also with detailed drawings of all modular elements and the proposed joints. Due to the location of our site near a fire escape route, one of the key requirements was to provide modular elements that could be rearranged and removed if needed. Felix explored different ways to achieve that through a number of sketches.

Great first session back from the expedition to the Lake District, analysing the site response with Group 3. The group chose housing and the commodification of the rural as their emerging themes for their site response.
By using scrap materials and hand painting, the group's chosen site will be documented on a map through the medium of collage.
