Group 24 Footbuild

Footbuild is a live project to turn reclaimed wood into a football stand & substitutes bench for Wythenshawe afc whose growth as a football club has outgrown their facilities. We will look to build the substitutes benches as part of the process of designing the new stand to house 150 spectators. We will collaborate with emerge touch wood who are focused on up-cycling to reduce landfill waste from construction sites. // Download Poster

To all fellow Footbuilder's ...

Please find below a link to a 3D Visual Fly-through of the first stage of the proposed Wythenshawe AFC Plan of works for the site. The video was released upon completion of the Clubhouse in early 2017. The Stands/Seating shown in the video are yet to be built and designs have changed slightly. However, this is a representation of the first stage in the clubs further vision of upscaling. Our design will be centered around extension and growth of the scheme outlined in this video. Quick update for team Footbuild!

Quick shot of Jack getting a feel for the site after a meeting with our collaborators. Alongside all first and second year students, we will aim to meet with our collaborators as frequently as possible throughout the 2 week programme and arrange a visit to site within the first few days to get to grips with the site and clubs vision, this will be imperative to the projects success.

Quick update for team Footbuild!

Here is a panoramic shot pitch-side from a raised embankment. Wythenshawe AFC alongside all FA affiliated clubs must meet certain criteria to accommodate spectators as they climb the football ladder. Discussion has been made in regards to a phasing strategy to allow the stands to grow alongside the teams footballing success'. A lot of scope for development and creativity here due to the sites topography and scale, alongside our collaborators vision for the club moving forward.
