Day 5

First day of filming commenced. Kelso, who we had previously met from our tour of Hulme kindly agreed to be interviewed to offer his perspectives on the crescents. He spoke really well, exclaiming himself that it was "the best he's ever spoken". We chose to do the interview in a setting comfortable to the speaker. He chose the subway near his house where he had tagged (painted) many times.

Today was when we had our presentations, to give three peers our ideas about the re-use of the Cornerhouse. We were split into session, in which we listened to other groups propositions, as well as giving our own ideas. We took it in turns to each explain our ideas and then received feedback. Overall, the project was very interesting and progressed very well

Our film is based on the music influence that came from Hulme in the period of the crescents and how the locals that lived and partied back then are keeping the music alive today. In order to find more informations and document the "present Hulme", we went to the Junction, the only pub that was built back then and it still stands today. There we found that the music is kept alive through the bands that perform weekly at the jam nights. This is a screenshot from the editing process.

We incorporated several 'playful' elements to our boxes, allowing them to be used by the public. Wind chimes were placed in some boxes, whilst others were spray painted with checkers boards for people to play on. Some faces of boxes were painted with chalkboard paint, allowing the public to draw on them, and other faces were covered with coloured material, making them more attractive to our audience.
