This is my proposal for future cityscape. This is actually collage how I imagine transportation in Manchester in 2115, therefore the background I've used is actual cityscape picture of area in Manchester at night.

Day 3 - Planning
Through following the road lines on the printed out map of New Islington, we came up with an interesting pattern. This is a starting point for the puzzle that we have decided to make, with a piece missing to signify the community no longer being there after a new redevelopment.
Posted 22 May 2015 08:39
We constructed the main frame of our design, from which our art installation would suspend from. The wooden pieces were laser cut for accuracy, and were supported and connected together with 25mm pieces of metal tubing.
Posted 22 May 2015 08:38
[Priority of design development given to Le Corbusier's five point of architecture- pilotis, ribbon windows, free facade, roof terrace and open floor plan]
Posted 22 May 2015 08:35
My scenario as shown the above, focuses mainly on over population and lack of fuel resources. Skyscrapers will fill the cities and we'll have to search for completely new way of travelling.
Posted 22 May 2015 08:35
Plan and section of our final display in our chosen site
Posted 22 May 2015 08:27
When I was looking at different future scenarios I found out that in almost every concept I found, I noticed something in common - all of the visions for the future include cities, consisting almost only skyscrapers. That brought me to the idea that transport in the future wouldn't be efficient if it doesn't have suitable option for air travel - not only for groups but for single travel as well.

My proposal for vehicle of the future. The idea for the aerodynamic shape I took from concept of the hornet vehicle, which can transform its wheels to large ''fans'' to switch in flight mode. That will be possible due to the joints placed above the wheels, making it possible to rotate. Solar panels will be placed all over the top of it and in the back there will be storage batteries for the unused sunlight. Travel will be non-pilot, monitored by high technology computer placed inside the cabin.
Posted 22 May 2015 08:04
I decided the vehicle I'm going to make will be powered by solar panels, due to no fuel resources in 100 years. I made a research about existing cars, powered by solar panels and different concepts about such types of vehicles. I was helpful because it gave me a clear direction of the possibilities solar systems have and what we could invent in the future using them. I really liked the idea of having batteries inside the vehicle to store the unused power. As we know weather is not always sunny so that would solve the problem with having enough energy for the journey.
Posted 22 May 2015 07:51
The movie I chose as an inspiration for my project, after some consideration, was Transformers - Revenge Of The Fallen. What I took from my movie, wasn't so much an idea for technology or exact looks, but the idea for transformation. I decided to bring the whole idea about vehicle, which transforms itself to meet the needs of the future travel. A vehicle - hybrid.

Posted 22 May 2015 05:52
Exploded axonometric of pot design and connection to installation.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:33
Lunch time traffic produced a lot of visitors to the event's site and only positive comments.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:27
Finalising the build and using tracking effects on the webcam to see reactions of people.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:26
Final storyboard of the trailer
Posted 22 May 2015 05:26
Experimenting with After effects to use mapping to get it onto a cube.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:24
Testing out software for projection tracking and mapping and fixing compatibility issues with the program.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:17
The use of black tissue paper can create the best environment for the projection and still situate it in a well lit environment and so can still function for its purpose.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:16
A idea of using the flow of people to interact with the installation in the middle, thus relating to transgression. It explores the peoples behaviour through the use of webcam.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:14
Idea of stackable cubes creating perpendicular planes to place videos which will create a effect on the viewer. This can be with videos or live streams
Posted 22 May 2015 05:12
Different possibilities to use the projects overhead or angled from a stand, or horizontal only a wall. Using with a mirror can increase the flexibility of use of the projector.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:06
Scouting possible locations around MSA building, with the same dark lit flat white coloured backgrounds for projection to be placed.
Posted 22 May 2015 05:00
First meeting and brainstorming the possibilities with projectors and projection mapping. Ideas with different variations of shapes and tracking.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:59
After the long process of rendering I started the post production of the animation. I created the intro for the video, as well as animated annotations, which clarify the sound sources.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:44
After the sound composition was done, it was then transfered to the animation file, which was made during 1st week. I learned how to set up basic studio lightning, which may help me in my current learning process of 3 Ds Max
Posted 22 May 2015 04:42
During the second weeks of the events we were facing some problems with sound editing software. Falk and Guillaume from Novars kindly agreed to meet us again, in order to fix our problems.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:38
Gorgeous! :-D
Posted 22 May 2015 04:36
Editing and animating , easier said than done but nonetheless it was enjoyable. With the combine effort of each teammates we manage to divide the tasks equally and did our best.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:35
The end result was an interactive projection of different images/animations of our assign topics on screens which were at different heights and distances from the projector.

Posted 22 May 2015 04:27
Finshed installation.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:27

Posted 22 May 2015 04:06
DAY 8
Each group presented the draft fil to Group.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:06
First test of our idea on an actual projector was a success that we even had time to play around a little with the software.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:03
DAY 7
Film editing and production. We also did some space planning and exhibition ideas brainstorming.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:03
Time was running out and our proposed site has not yet been approved, so, we secured a backup space in the ‘shed’ while we waited.
Posted 22 May 2015 04:01
Cutting mounting board which was to be used as frames in the final installation.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:59
DAY 4
Tutorials of Adobe After Effects by Inda, and I learnt a few tricks of video editing as well.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:55
Each group presenting their ideas/proposals to the 5th years.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:49
Discussing and making research of our assigned topics.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:48
Third floor Chatham; here was the space we chose for our final installation. We took measurements, discuss and shared ideas of what to do with the space.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:48
The first session was mainly introduction of what we will be doing for the events. We were split into groups which comprised of both first and second year students.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:46
Perspective of the final museum design in context.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:44
Casting got , setting ready , camera action and the filming begins!!! We embark on our three days journey across Manchester to gather films to contribute to our trailer.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:19
We had a walking tour of the current Hulme, by Tony Kelzo (a Hulme resident and graffiti artist). Kelzo worked significantly on The Crescents prior to their demolition to 'brighten up the place', many creative people developed within The Crescents. The orthogonal pattern of the crescents (shown in this image) also inspired our exhibition set design.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:16
Preliminary perspective showing the main exhibition space inside the museum. Visitors would have access to an external seating area which would provide spectacular views of the lake district.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:14
Hulme historical footage (The Crescents Demolition), investigated at the North West Film Archive at Manchester Central library. Overlaid with audio interview quotes within our film.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:09
Initial perspective showing the space which would house the Merzbau models. A visual link would be created between the Merz Barn just outside the museum and Schwitters' work on Merzbaus inside the museum.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:08
A preliminary internal perspective showing the relationship between the entrance space and the glazed roof which gives a view to a specific Beech tree at the site.
Posted 22 May 2015 03:01
We got 4 kites in total. Here's the kite of three group. We were testing the different ways of flying the kites. The timber rod was easily smashed, but the kites were still able to fly as it is string enough to hold the structure. The little photo showed the broken timber rod.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:58
A sectional perspective looking to show part of the main exhibition space and the relationship between the sloping roof and the other exhibits.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:56
Day 6

We started the construction of our kite. Using bamboo sticks helped us create light structure, to which we attached even lighter textiles. At the end we drew on it a diagram reflecting our research and also reminding of Norway and the landscape surrounding the Hut.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:52
Aerial View of The Crescents, our final video will question the memory of The Crescents and the impact of their demolition.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:48
The initial sketch plan was developed to account for the specific conditions of the site. Key in the development of the plan was the consideration of a particular tree which had special importance to our client.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:46
Recording video and audio in Hulme, to contrast the area during and after the demolition of The Crescents.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:46
Day 5

My group started designing a kite. We wanted it to have two similar parts, representing Wittgenstein's earlier and later period, as well as concentrating on the transition between the two. We started with a test model in order to avoid mistakes when proceeding with the final one.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:44
The Crescents development, photo of the original architect's site model.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:41
Day 5.
Working on the interior of our proposal. Ropes were glued to the metallic connection elements (70 bent wires to create circle connection element). Image above shows progression of swing glueing. Trying to create different spaces, sets and furniture types for the project.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:38
On top is a diagram which shows the basic arrangement of the exhibits in the museum, giving space for both the work and the information regarding the political context in which the work was created. Beneath this is the initial sketch plan that was formulated from the diagram.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:38
Day 6.
Screenshots from our final presentation video. They show couple of different scenarios how the space could be used.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:35
MMU Birley Fields campus, most recent redevelopment within Hulme. Continuing it's ever changing nature, and bringing new aspects to the community.

A site sketch trying to show the point at which you would first see the museum if approaching from the current main building.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:27
The kite. It eventually fly into the sky. This has proved that the materials and the concept worked well. Lightest materials plus large surface area are crucial in creating the lifting force for the kite. We left out the bracing as it would increase the weight of the kite and if without it, the kite was still strong for flying for few times.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:27
Hulme Park with the Zion Centre in background. We had a BBQ in the park on Day 1 to get to know each other and the area of study.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:26
Hulme Hippodrome, visited Day 1. One of very few links to Hulme's Victorian History, derelict and underused.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:24
Day 07: Today was filming day. We filmed us assembling the building and then we added people moving around the spaces using stop motion.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:22
Having been split into teams to tackle the different project proposals at the site, we began taking photos of the specific locations in which our proposed buildings would be. The photo above shows the site for the Kurt Schwitters Museum.
Posted 22 May 2015 02:19
Posted 22 May 2015 02:18
Day 06: Today we went to the workshop to build the frame of the building. We used wood for the columns and floor slabs and some perspex for glass panes on the 1st floor
Posted 22 May 2015 02:17
A view showing the approach to the last Merzbau experiment by Kurt Schwitters. On the second day we took to the Lake district to meet our client (Ian Hunter) and to view the site on which we would be working.
